I have worked as an occupational therapist with the NHS for over nine years and in mental health for eight years. My career as an occupational therapist has provided me with skills in cognitive behavioural therapy, dialectical behavioural therapy, and acceptance commitment therapy, all of which I continue to utilise, where suitable, within my hypnotherapy practice. Throughout my career, I have always had a burning desire to enhance my skills and knowledge and train further in the field of psychotherapy.
Working in the NHS, I have witnessed the pressure and strain on services resulting in so many people's referrals being rejected or waiting endlessly for support with their mental health. On many occasions, I could not help but feel saddened and guilty that I was not able to help and had to turn referrals away for people who would benefit from support. Over the years, it further ignited the flame in my heart to build on my skills, knowledge, training, and qualifications to ensure I can support as many people as possible. Upon further research into psychotherapy, I stumbled across the resolution, hypnotherapy. Hypnotherapy is a fast, effective, and holistic treatment. Hypnotherapy works as a stand-alone treatment or in combination with medical therapies. Hypnotherapy's ability to support us with our mental and physical health and well-being, to achieve our goals, and equip us with the skills for long-lasting change proved phenomenal.
